How to remove Babylon Search or Toolbar from Mozilla Firefox

When you download Softwares from internet sometimes may possible you accidentally install a Toolbar or Search like Babylon Search or Toolbar in Mozilla Firefox or other browser.

In that case just go to Control Panel and uninstall the Babylon Toolbar. and go to Add-ons in Mozilla Firefox and Check Extensions and Plugins if it is there then remove it and restart your browser and also delete the Babylon folder from Program files in C drive.

Sometimes it is not visible in installed programs then follow the given procedure -

1. In url address of your Firefox browser type in:  about:config . This will display a list of Firefox settings and other configurations
2. In Filter, type in babylon. This will display only entries related or has references to Babylon.
3. Right-click then Reset for all, this will change back your default search engine.

Have problem with opening gmail in Mozilla

Some of my friends told that they have problem with gmail when they open in Mozilla. Some of the buttons are not appearing and also they were unable to select the mail in inbox or other . when they try to delete the mail it was not deleted. after refreshing it again appears in the Inbox.

I don't no why this is happening but I suggested them to update the Mozilla firefox to Latest version and they get rid of that problem. If still you have the problem Clear the History , Cookies and Cache in Firefox.

Just go to Firefox > Options > Options > Privacy > Clear your recent History  and select Everything and check all the boxes and click on Clear now.

To update your Mozilla firefox just go to  Firefox > Help > About Firefox

it will automatically check for update and install it.

If this fails you can download manually the latest version of Mozilla Firefox and install it.

Install startup manager in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Startup Manager is not supported in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS but there is a better alternative to startup manager in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS named is ‘Grub Customizer’.

You can easily install Grub Customizer in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS by the command given below one by one.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007/grub-customizer

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install grub-customizer

After installing you can search Grub Customizer in Applications and modify the boot time , font , and background image etc.

My Experience with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is released previously with a lot of new features and removing some features. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS in laptop.  I faced a lot of problems with it because of non availability of startup manager in this. I used some new applications which were good.

You also can download Ubuntu 12.04 from it’s official website and install by using cd or Pen drive.

I faced problem in Wifi adapter because it was not detecting my wifi adapter then I googled it and solved this prolem by using ‘rfkill unblock all’ command in Terminal. And you can know the status by ‘rfkill list all’ command.

There was a good option for giving static ip address in which I gave manually ip address , netmask , dns and it worked fully.

I also faced problem in login in root in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I searched then found a command 

sudo passwd root

sudo sh -c 'echo "greeter-show-manual-login=true" >> /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf'

I copied and pasted the above command in terminal and restarted the system then there was an option for entering User Name and password. I used User Name ‘root’ and Password whatever I used before for system login.

and if you want to remove that User Name and Password option from there then use this command

sudo passwd root

sudo sh -c 'echo "greeter-show-manual-login=false" >> /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf'

and restart your system.
